The Wedding Industry

Those who know me are aware that I have worked in the entertainment industry for over three decades. My musical and creative colleagues have been hit hard by the pandemic, from actors, musicians, backstage crew, lighting, costume designers ... the list is endless. Singing at the Royal Albert Hall feels like a distant memory to me. My heart breaks.

It's twice as devastating to work in TWO industries so greatly affected by Covid.

My thoughts go to the countless couples who have had to postpone their wedding celebrations. It's devastating. Nearly a third of weddings around the world take place between April and June. Potentially, approximately 64,000 weddings in the UK, 652, 000 in the U.S. and 12 million worldwide have had to be rescheduled.

Our glorious wedding industry has been hit hard in 2020 with associated businesses affected significantly; wedding planners, bridal boutiques, wedding venues, wedding celebrants, florists, hair and makeup artists, caterers ... again, the list is endless.

My thoughts to everyone in the industry who has been affected by this pandemic.

May we support each other throughout 2021 and may your businesses flourish.

I, for one, can't wait to get my wedding shoes on and start celebrating LOVE.
