CORONAVIRUS - COVID-19
"Unprecedented, unknown, unknowable –
this is our new normal for now."
Fran Hall - Director of The Good Funeral Guide
These are challenging times.
As a Civil Celebrant, my focus remains on serving families in their time of need.
THINGS ARE CHANGING EVERY DAY.
At the moment, services are attended by a small congregation.
Many families are choosing to arrange a 'direct cremation'
because they simply can't choose which family members and friends should attend.
When a 'direct cremation' takes place,
families are denied the all important ritual of arranging a service for their loved one.
My immediate concerns lay with hundreds, potentially thousands of families
whose grief will have nowhere to go. Planning and attending a funeral service is a rite of passage
for those left behind and such a necessary part of the grieving process.
It's time to get creative.
For when you can't be there.
